Trip Itinerary: Wednesday to Friday – Trips run from Wednesday to Friday in order to synchronize the internal flights with the international flights from JHB.

The Fishing Experience
Gabon has the longest stretch of untouched coastline left on the African continent, and along with a massive estuary system rich in nutrients, offers the avid salt water fishermen the opportunity to experience the thrill of targeting the numerous and unique species of West Africa with both spin and fly tackle. The abundance of large and aggressive game fish, all eager to attack a well fished lure, is complimented by Africa’s most pristine tropical rain forest which creates the back drop to this one of a kind salt water fishing experience.
The camp is on the boundary of the Loango National Park, offering a highly exclusive experience, in which to enjoy both the fishing and wildlife of this untouched venue.
Accommodation is simple chalets with twin configuration. Meals are enjoyed on the main living area, which includes a stocked bar and a deck overlooking the estuary.
This is truly a world class fishery, and also offers the opportunity to experience guided walks through Loanga National park where you will have the chance of seeing Chimpanzees, Lowland Gorillas, Red Riverine Hogs, Forest Sitatunga, Numerous forest Duikers and Monkeys, along with the unique experience of forest elephant and forest buffalo sightings along on the beach. This area is also world famous for its unique birds, with a chance to see Vermiculated fishing owls, Chocolate Back Kingfishers and White Crowned Tiger Herons amongst many others.
Day 1 – Wednesday (JHB to Libreville)
14h40: Depart JHB for Libreville, Gabon.
18h45: Arrive in Libreville, Gabon
You will be met by an English speaking representative at airport who will escort you to Hotel Tropicana. Dinner at Hotel Tropicana (Own Expense).
Day 2 – Thursday (Day trip in Libreville)
This is a free day in Libreville and can be either spent relaxing on the beach at Hotel Tropicana, or as an optional day trip to La Baie des Tortues in Pongara National Park. Situated on the Pointe Pongara peninsula, twenty minutes by boat across the estuary at Libreville, La Baie des Tortues is a classical tropical beach setting where guests can enjoy a relaxing day just chilling in the waves or walking the clearwater beaches with a spinning rod rigged for jacks, barracuda, West African Spanish mackerel, etc. This is not the kind of fishing one would typically associate with Gabon, but there is often sport to be had, particularly with lighter gear. Day 3 – Friday (Libreville to Sette Cama Camp)
06h30: Breakfast at Hotel Tropicana (Own Expense)
08h00: Collection by representative at Hotel Tropicana, and transfer to airport.
09h30: Depart on Allegiance Air flight (1 hour) to Gamba.
10h30: Arrive in Gamba, where you will be met by a camp representative.
11h00: Transfer of 10 minutes by taxi to boat, followed by a 1 hour boat transfer to Sette Cama Camp. This boat transfer covers the extensive Loango Lagoon, and is a breath taking encounter with the vastness of this estuary system.
12h30: Arrive at Sette Cama Camp
After lunch tackle will be set up and guests will have the opportunity to take in the local sights, rest and have an afternoon of targeting fish close to the camp.
Days 4 to 8: (Saturday to Thursday) Sette Cama Camp, Gabon
The following 6 full days you have the opportunity to engage in the numerous fishing and wildlife activities this dynamic venue has to offer. The Sette Cama Lagoon is the largest estuary system in Africa, and is the Southern border of the Loango National Park, which offers an incredibly pristine environment in which to target numerous species unique to West Africa.
A typical day will involve either a full day, or two half day sessions, of targeting Jacks, Cuberra Snapper, Giant African Threadfin, Tarpon, and Senegal Kob.
Day 9: (Friday) Sette Cama to JHB
07h00: After breakfast depart Sette Cama Camp. Boat transfer to Gamba.
08h30: Arrive in Gamba, and transfer to airport via taxi.
10h00: Depart Gamba, on Allegiance Air to Libreville.
11h00: Arrive in Libreville. You will be met by English speaking representative, who will escort you to Hotel Tropicana, where you can enjoy lunch, dinner and a relaxing afternoon at the Hotel. (Lunch and Dinner, own Expense)
20h00: Transferred via taxi, back to the Airport
23h30: Depart Libreville, on SAA for JHB
Day 10: (Saturday)
05h20: Arrive in JHB
18ft Panga Boats are used for all fishing and transport once at the camp. These boats are large and stable and comfortably fish 3 people.
